 Large TextWall Upholstery Backing is an acrylic latex coating applied to the fabric back. The coating is designed to improve fabric handling characteristics and prevent adhesive "strike-through" when used as wall upholstery. One advantage of wall upholstery backing over paper backing is that the flexibility of the backing allows some "give" in those cases where fabric bias is less than perfect. Installation Note: Care must always be taken with wet adhesives. Over application of adhesive, or installing fabric before the adhesive has developed proper "tack" can lead to adhesive strike-through on some fabrics. Have your applicator determine the suitability of the fabric and finish before applying fabric to wall. Attention: To avoid delays in processing your order, we ask that you please instruct your fabric supplier to mark the face of your fabric. Standard industry practice dictates that fabrics are rolled "face in." However, this practice is sometimes disregarded and fabrics are shipped "face out." Also, with the advent of reversible fabrics and the fact that designers commonly use the "reverse" side of the "face", there is no way to be sure which side is intended to be used as the face if the roll is not marked. As a result, costly mistakes can happen. In some cases, attaching a swatch to your purchase order and designating the face is an acceptable alternative to marking the roll. However, if the differences in the front and back are subtle, a small swatch may not make it possible to positively identify the face. Wall Upholstery Backing is permanent.
