The following information is provided to assist you when ordering Fabric Finishing services. Additional information may be found in Services
STEP 1 - CHOOSING A FINISH - We Can Help! To assist you in deciding which fabric finishes are best suited for your needs, we can send you a FREE brochure along with a FREE information packet and FREE fabric sample swatches treated with different finishes for your evaluation! In addition, if you give us a call, we will be happy to discuss your unique situation and help you with your fabric and finishing choices.
Samples - Samples are provided so you can experience the "Look" and "Feel" of a finished fabric before your order is processed. We offer (3) sample options to our customers:
- Sample Swatches - Small fabric samples treated with various finishes - FREE!
- Small Samples (Your Fabric) - Up to 1/2 yard - nominal charge
- Large Samples (Your Fabric) - 2 to 4 yards - nominal charge
(The most accurate representation of how your order will respond)
| Please Note - Because of testing, archival and working loss, there is NO GUARANTEE RETURN on samples submitted. Samples can vary significantly in hand and appearance from actual production runs. |
STEP 2 - PURCHASE ORDER
Once you decide on the finish you want, the next step is to send in a purchase order. Purchase orders should contain the following information. Customer - Name, Address, Phone, Fax, Contact, Billing Information Ship To - Name, Address, Phone, Fax, Contact Fabric Information - Yardage, Pattern, Color, Content, Manufacturer, End Use Finishing Processes - (eg. Stain Protection, Knit Backing, etc.) Fire Code - Testing requirements for flame retardant orders - (From local fire marshal)
To save you time, we have an Online Purchase Order -or- You can print out a Purchase Order form, fill it out and fax or mail it to us.
STEP 3 - SENDING YOUR FABRIC
When ordering fabrics - Please instruct your fabric supplier to:- Clearly Mark Package with customer's name (company issuing PO to SBI)
- Clearly Mark the Face of the fabric. (Absolutely critical for backing orders)
- Roll fabric "Face-In" on a tube. (Standard industry practice)
To avoid delays, all fabrics must be properly packaged and marked.
STEP 4 - PROCESSING TIMES
Listed below are the average times required for finishing. If you have a deadline, PLEASE LET US KNOW, and we will do everything possible to help you meet it! 24-48 hour service is available on some finishes. Call for details.

**Each individual finish requires samples for testing and archival purposes. At the beginning and end of each piece, there is another small working loss. In addition, some shrinkage can occur with finishes. Recommended fabric allowances are listed here.
Order Tracking - Once your purchase order is received and your information is entered, you can track the status of your order.- Finishing Orders - Get instant information on the status of your order. If you have multiple orders, we can send you a tracking report so that you can easily keep track of which orders have been received, shipped, and their status.
- Shipments - SBI can provide you with the tracking numbers of your FedEx and UPS shipments and you can track them online @ fedex.com or ups.com.
STEP 5 - PAYMENT OPTIONS -- SBI Open Account - Terms are net 30 days to approved accounts. If you would like to establish an account, please fill out the Online Credit Application -or- print out a Credit Application from our website and fax it to us -or- send in your own trade reference sheet. (please include contact names)
- Credit Card - VISA, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover cards WELCOME!
- Check - Send prepayment for treatment charges. We will invoice you for ground shipping charges. If air shipment is required, please provide us with your shipper account number and those charges will be billed to your account.
- C.O.D. - If your fabric is shipping to a workroom, make sure arrangements have been made for them to accept your C.O.D. shipment.

SUITABILITY - We offer samples, information and other assistance to our customers as they make their fabric and finishing decisions. However, the final decision concerning the suitability of your fabric for your project and your particular situation can only be made by you and your client.
LIMITED LIABILITY, TERMS, CONDITIONS:
Inspect goods carefully upon receipt, claims must be made in writing within 90 days of receipt of fabric. We do not accept responsibility for dye performance, manufacturing defects or consequential damages. We disclaim any warranties of merchantability or suitability for a particular purpose. We reserve the right to inspect and reprocess any goods deemed unacceptable by the customer. Returns for reprocessing cannot be considered after material has been cut or fabricated in any way. Claims shall be considered only for fabrics damaged by improper processing and shall be limited to the wholesale price of the fabric. No claim will be honored for fabric costs in excess of $10.00 per yard unless excess value is declared and process insurance is issued. Flame Certificates furnished with invoice for fabric processed with flame retardant. Payment terms are net 30 days to approved accounts. Accounts past due may be placed on "stop shipment/credit hold" status until all outstanding balances are paid, at which time the account may be placed on COD status until good credit can be reestablished. Small shipments are insured for a maximum of $500 per package unless additional insurance is requested on purchase order. Packing charge $5.00 per package. International and truck shipments additional charge.
